BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT

Beauty Tip: I fight my t-zone shine all summer long. The best mattifier I've found is Milk of Magnesia. A light application with my fingertips before makeup, let it dry and then rub gently to remove any excess. Apply makeup as usual and you'll be matte all day long!

Beauty Tip: Try wearing a watermelon or rosy pink shade of blush to give the skin that perfect "lit from within" effect. They'll make skin look fresh, healthy, and glowy.

Beauty Tip: Less is more during the summer months. Instead of wearing a ton of foundation, try a tinted moisturizer for a lightweight finish. Top it off with a bit of bronzer to give your gorgeous skin a sun-kissed look. Muah!

Beauty Tip: No one wants to wear heavy makeup in the summer, so skip the foundation and even the tinted moisturizer in the summer.  Both can slide off your face in the humidity.  Instead, try a self-tanner that will give you the glow you desire and a tan (fake is safer) always makes your skin look flawless!

Beauty Tip: Go pink! Get rid of the dark nail polish and go with a sweet cotton candy color. Add a little bit of blush to your routine to add a touch of color to your face. When it comes to lipstick, find something that works with your skin tone that's a couple of shades lighter. Most importantly though - smile. Warmer days are ahead!

Beauty Tip: Summer is a time of less is more because of heat and humidity but you still want that natural yet sexy glow that summer gives you (we hope.. and not just a sweaty mess). If you have dry skin, try cream formulas of shadow, blush and foundation. If you have oily skin, try oil-free liquid or cream to powder versions so they stay put. What you are looking for is a shimmer, a shine, a glossy look  for the eyes, cheeks or lips-- but not all at once. Don't forget mascara and groomed brows because that will set off your look faster than you can say "hot summer nights". Think shimmer on the eyes, a bit of glow on the cheeks,  glossy lips in a sheer color and fringey lashes. Fingers make for easy & fast application -- even on the run.

Beauty Tip: Look for a face primer with SPF to protect your skin this summer. A Moisturizer with SPF is more common but for some direct contact with the ingredient can irritate the skin. However the primer sits on top of the skin like a shield- This mixed with SPF is the perfect protection for any skin type.

Beauty Tip: If you've gotten some sun (or faux sun) make sure that you adjust your concealer accordingly. You want to make sure that when you cover eye circles or problem areas that you have a concealer that matches your tan complexion otherwise you will have concealer that is too light in certain areas and doesn't blend or look natural.

Beauty Tip: My tip: With the current heat & humidity, less is DEFINITELY more. Nothing worse than your makeup running down your face! I prefer multi-taskers like Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, since it does 3 jobs in 1: moisturize, protect, and perfect. Add mascara & lip gloss and you're done!

Beauty Tip: Play with turquoise liner for summer, with Too Faced's Perfect eyes Waterproof eye liner in Perfect Peacock.

Beauty Tip: Your hands can give away your age even though you treat your facet with the greatest creams in the world. Sunscreen is KEY! Find a good photostable sunscreen and apply it every day to face chest arms, legs and don't forget the backs of your hands!

Beauty Tip: A bold lip in pink or coral is huge this spring. If a bright hue is a little intimidating, opt for a sheer gloss version of the shade. It will be an easier color to find and keeps you on trend in a different way.

Beauty Tip: The best way to update your look is to incorporate a punch of bright color during makeup application. There's no need to abandon tried-and-true neutrals. Just modernize your look by selecting a bright hue of cheek or lip color and you're set!

Beauty Tip: Try wearing a bright coral or pink lipstick with just some mascara and/or black liner on your eyes. It's an easy, yet fun summery look. The less eye makeup the better!

Beauty Tip: I make two simple changes when the temperature rises; I lighten up and brighten up! Lighten up on foundations and powders. Switch to a tinted moisturizer and apply powder with a brush rather than a puff for a lighter, airy look that lets sun kissed skin show through. And I brighten my color selections. Now's the time for hot pink lips, chartreuse eyes, bright coral cream blush. As the temperature heats up, so should your makeup.
