What happens if an item is out of stock?

Because we buy last chance products, overstocks, and promotions, we rarely re-stock items. However, if you’re really losing sleep over getting more of a specific item, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to help you out :)

Why do prices change sometimes?

We don't always pay the same price -- sometimes we get a certain item for less, other times more. If we save on an item, we will pass the savings along to you. However, from time to time, we have to pay a little more which means the price may go up on that particular product.

Some of the products look like they're from last season. Are they?

Most beauty products launched in the United States are later re-launched overseas. So, just because you don't see it at your beauty counter doesn't mean the manufacturer isn't still making it to ship to other parts of the world. From time to time, we even offer limited-edition items that were never sold in the U.S. but were wildly successful in other countries.

What is the shelf life of cosmetics?

The shelf life of unopened cosmetics is anywhere from 2 to 5 years, depending who you ask. Because there is currently no U.S. law that requires cosmetic manufacturers to print expiration dates on the labels of cosmetic products, the Food & Drug Administration only reports that "voluntary shelf-life guidelines developed by the cosmetic industry vary, depending on the product and its intended use." However, in Europe, the 'Cosmetics Directive' does require a "use by" date on products that have a shelf life of less than 30 months.

Jen Adkins at About.com writes, "Unopened products that are still sealed usually have a shelf life of 3-5 years or more, so don't be concerned about the products on the shelf. As long as they stay sealed, they will last many years. The time only starts counting down when you open it." And, in an interview with Good Housekeeping, cosmetic chemist Ni’Kita Wilson of Cosmetech reported that “unopened, well-formulated cosmetics can remain stable for a couple of years at room temperature. But the clock starts once you bring a product home and open it. When air hits the formula, certain ingredients start to oxidize and degrade.”

What is the shelf life of skincare?

Most skincare products have active ingredients that lose their efficacy over time. For this reason, they have a date stamp on them to let you know when the product will no longer be as effective. At best, they stop performing as well as they used to; at worst, they can cause irritation. For this reason, BeautyTicket.com does not sell products that have passed their expiration date.

Why haven’t I heard of BeautyTicket.com before?

We’d like to believe we’re the Internet’s best kept secret, but the truth is – advertising is expensive. And because we’re all about saving money, we spend almost no money on advertising. Most of our business comes from referrals by happy customers!

How accurate are the colors on my computer monitor?

Please note that not all computer monitors display colors the same way. What you see on your monitor may not accurately portray the color or shade of the product. We suggest you refer to your monitor owners’ manual to calibrate your monitor correctly.
