To make a castor oil pack, you will need some materials such as sponge, wash cloth, baking soda, paper towels, large plastic sheet, hot water bottle, electric heating pad, 13 gallon trash bag, unbleached cotton or wool flannel and cold pressed/processed castor oil.

It is important that you heat the pack before putting or applying it on the body. The easiest and simplest way to do it is by putting the flannel on top of the heating pad. The heating pad should be covered by a trash bag and the heat must be turned on.  Saturate the flannel with the castor oil. Never heat the pack using a microwave oven.

Generally, Castor Oil pack in epilepsy should be put over the liver on the right side of person’s body extending from top to bottom which is about 4 inches below the pubic bone.
